Overview

Assistance under this objective is aimed at improving the health of Paraguayan population, specially women in reproductive age and those living in rural areas.

Specifically, the program has a focus on supporting local health services and regional and local authorities to improve the provision of quality basic health services and to improve maternal health.

Support is also provided to local NGOs in order to expand the access to health services within the underserved population. It involves a multi-institutional approach that is augmenting delivery of both, reproductive health and family planning services to rural and underserved populations. It is enabling Paraguay to approach the foal of “every child a wanted and healthy child, and every mother a survivor”


The Health Program includes activities in the following areas:

• Health decentralization
• Quality of reproductive health services
• Maternal health
