|
USAID is part of the Diplomatic Mission of the
Government of the United States in Paraguay. USAID/Paraguay
is in charge of designing and implementing the US’s
development assistance strategy for Paraguay. In order to
fulfill this mandate, USAID/Paraguay takes into consideration
the development needs of Paraguay, the interests of the US
Government, the level of resources available, and the role
of other donors in Paraguay.
USAID/Paraguay channels assistance support through contracting
mechanisms with US based private institutions, as well as
through cooperative agreements with local and international
NGOs.
The USAID Mission in Paraguay focuses its development efforts
in the following areas: the consolidation of Democracy,
the protection of the Environment, the improvement
of Public Health, and the promotion of Economic
Development for all Paraguayans.
